In this talk, we will explore key parameters to evaluate if IoT is required for your business. The talk will then walk you through different revenue models that can be employed by an IoT business, with indicative examples. It will also introduce you to Lean Business Canvas framework, in the context of IoT. This talk will be followed by a 2-hour workshop on BUSINESS MODELS FOR IOT BUSINESSES, for preregistered users (on a first-come-first-serve basis)

Target Audience: Startup founders, Business Unit heads, Senior Management (of tech as well as non-tech companies that want to explore the relevance of IoT to their organisation’s future)
This workshop is a continuation of the talk: EXPLORING REVENUE MODELS FOR IOT. The objective of this workshop is to explore value extraction from an IoT implementation by leveraging the right business model for it. In this workshop, participants working in teams will take up specific IoT usecases (utilities in a smart city, industry automation, health tech for hospitals, smart agriculture, etc) and apply business models to them, focusing on value proposition, customers, revenue generation, profitability, etc. If you intend to participate in this workshop, please also attend the preceding talk which will introduce the concepts used in this session.
- Ways to evaluate if IoT is a requirement or not for a particular business
- Exposure to different revenue models for IoT
- Hands-on experience in choosing the right model for a given IoT usecase
