BUILDING AN IOT ENABLED ASSISTIVE GLOVE FOR THE BLIND

Attendees will build a glove that can be used to by the blind navigate using sonar sensors. It also lets you send SOS alerts to a preferred contact at the press of a button on the glove.

The workshop will be hands-on and conducted in groups of 3-4 participants. Each group will build the hardware, write code and test their prototypes. The session will conclude with a discussion on additions that can be made to the prototype.

                                                  

Profile:

Deepak is the technical mastermind at Future Foundry – a company which he cofounded to upskill core engineers. Future Foundry helps progressive businesses adopt emerging technologies through CXO roundtables, deep dive training, labs and in-house project consultancy in the space of IoT, Big Data, Blockchain, AI and Drones. In a short span of 1.5 years, Future Foundry has designed solutions that have impacted more than a thousand decision makers and practicing engineers of large conglomerates like L&T. Prior to Future Foundry, Deepak worked with Jaguar Landrover (UK) as a product development engineer where he designed electrical networks and ECU integration for Jaguar F-type and the new Range Rover Sport. Before JLR, he worked as an Automation Engineer at Siemens, India for 3 years. On assignment from Siemens, he worked on various application development projects in printing, food packaging, plastic manufacturing and textile industries. When he is not working, he loves to reverse-engineer home appliances or review latest cars.
