WHY BLDC IS THE NEXT BIG THING IN EFFICIENT POWER MANAGEMENT AND ENERGY CONSERVATION

This talk will focus on demand side conservation through the addition of energy efficient electrical appliances for new installations, and also replacing the older appliances with energy efficient ones. LED Lighting saw a huge success and the next big leap is motors. This leap would most likely begin with highly used appliances like ceiling fan, and then air-conditioners, air-coolers, air-purifiers, etc.

                                                

Speakers Profile:

Britto

Britto, graduated with a Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering in 1999, started working with embedded software with SCM Microsystems. In 2005, he was transferred to Japan, and worked for companies like EPSON, Canon, and OMRON as a consultant. In 2012, he joined ROHM Semiconductor. He setup ROHM’s India Design Center in Dec, 2013, and setup the LSI design, Application Engineering, and Product Strategy teams, totaling around 20 engineers. His vision is to accelerate the electrification of Automotives, especially 2-wheelers, thus reducing emissions. In his free time, he works on Machine learning and Computer Vision

 

Vijay

Vijay, obtained a Master’s degree in Energy Systems Engineering in 1990 from IIT Chennai. He has worked for 20 years as a Design Manager at International Rectifier, USA.  During his tenure at IR, he has worked with Industrial, consumer and Automotive customers and systems. Vijay has extensive experience with product definition and system level design. Vijay has relocated with his family to India in 2011 to help India develop Energy Efficient solutions. He joined ROHM Semiconductor in 2014. He has helped to setup ROHM’s India Application Engineering team in 2014. The Application Engineering team is focusing on BLDC Appliances, LED Lighting for consumer and Automotive segments. His vision is to enable Indian manufacturers to design and produce cost effective, energy efficient solutions and systems, thus reducing reliance on imports, energy demand and emissions. In his free time, Vijay enjoys doing gardening, wood working, reading and long drives.

    Saving $$ in oil-imports & Coal-fired Power-Gen plants….Saving Lives.
